Swansea SWWU

Nearly one week after the first in-person swwu leg of the year, the second swwu leg took place last weekend in Swansea.

In a scene of mascot stealing, flag wearing and the ocasional shooting of arrows, archers reunited more sessions of Portsmouths.

Swansea and Cardiff took the first session, with Plymouth, Bristol, Bath, Exeter and the last of Swansea in the second session.

In the Experienced teams, Cardiff took the lead (2017), with Bristol taking second (1983) and Exeter coming on the last podium place (1976), with Bath (1952), Swansea (1841) and Plymouth (1684) losing out this time.

In Novice Teams, Swansea won the gold (1646), with silver going to Bath (1393), and Cardiff (1341) taking bronze, with Plymouth (1202), Exeter (1048) and Bristol (836) coming short.

Last but not least, Compound team went to Swansea (1047) for the third month in a row, with Plymouth(561) taking 2nd.

Individual performances which won glory and gold in the experienced categories should be mentioned, with Alex Rowe (575) from Plymouth in recurve men, Joanna Meyer (539) from Bath in recurve women, Rob Hargreaves (561) from Plymouth and Grace Barret-Rees (also 561) in compound men and women respectively, Henry Barnet (493) from Exeter in barebow men and Pheobe Noble (438) in barebow female, and Connor Blake Hurley (378) in longbow men.

In the novice category, many new bees shot amazing scores which saw them take the top podium place, Rynal Fleming (501) from Swansea in male recurve, Izzy Wilde (414) from Britsol in female recurve, Matthew Bedding (371) from Swansea in male barebow, Amy Shield (335) from Cardiff in female barebow, Jemima Maxted (371) from Swansea in female longbow, Chris Hibberd (486) from Swansea in male compound and Caitlin Willoughby (393) from Swansea in female compound.

But the highlight of the whole day, has to be Swansea’s record keeping not going entirley to plan, it definetly made good entertainment during awards when at least nearly one hand was raised in each category questioning the results.

But do not worry, a full copy of the results can be found on the SWWU website under calender.

Finally, we hope all of the stolen mascots are being treated well and will hopefully be returned by the next SWWU leg 😉

See you guys in January for Exeter SWWU Leg Frostbite!

LONG LIVE THE IMMORTAL SWWU!!!
