Great fun was had by all at a wet and windy SWWU Summer Slam this weekend! In the men’s recurve category, Thomas Ledgerwood (Exeter) stormed to first place in the seedings with a score of 529, but was stopped in the semi finals by 4th seed, Gavin Tsang (Swansea), who took a 6-4 victory before going on to beat 3rd seed, Jamie Diep (Bristol) to take gold in the final 7-3. Surabhi Desai (Exeter) won the women’s recurve event with a 6-0 victory over Kellie Petinger (Bristol). Arden Roach (Aber) won the men’s barebow category, seeding 4th before beating 1st and 2nd seeds to take the gold, whilst in the women’s barebow, Rachel Osman (Exeter) seeded 2nd before upsetting 1st seed, Aubrey Whitish (Swansea) 7-1 to finish top. And it an all-Swansea men’s compound final, with William Shackley pipping William Murphy to the top spot 136-129.
A massive thanks to Bristol for hosting the event! We now look forward to our first SWWU leg of the new season, in Swansea on Saturday 26th October…
