Meanwhile, Matt Butler (Swansea), Aubrey Whitish (Swansea), William Murphy (Swansea alumni) and Chris Crawford (Exeter alumni) competed in the Bowmen of Gower Club Championship, with all four archers taking home gold in their respective categories!
That was followed the next day by the Welsh & Open Outdoor Championships, with Swansea again sending a large team of archers to Pembrey, along with Chris Crawford (Exeter alumni), Alex Newnes (Aber alumni) and Beth Duthie (Aber alumni). Huge congrats to Alex and Beth, who took gold in the Gents’ Longbow and Ladies’ Longbow categories, as well as Aubrey Whitish, who took home bronze (Ladies’ Barebow), James Hayday, who also took home bronze (Gents’ Barebow) and Matt Butler, who managed to bag himself a trip to A&E.
