August eLeague Results

With the pandemic ending the 2019/20 season early and stopping any plans for a Summer Slam, the SWWU eLeague’s began in earnest this month. Submissions have been open since August 1st with separate leagues for both current students and alumni.

Starting with WA720, WA50 BB, WA50 CUL and Outdoor Portsmouth (Novice Only) submissions to the student eLeague, 20 submissions were received with Joe Tripp (Plymouth) coming out on top with 607 in the men’s experienced recurve in front of fellow Plymouth athlete Alex Rowe with 603. In the women’s experienced recurve category Surabhi Desai from Exeter came out on top with 525. The new World Archery barebow round had its SWWU league debut with fresh league records being posted by Sophie Brain of Bristol with 322 and Lonja Selter of Plymouth with 604 in the experienced categories. Catherine Hughes from Exeter and Becca Eckles of Cardiff battled it out in the women’s experienced compound category with Hughes coming out with 611 and Eckles in second with a close 606. In the novice categories, we’ve received only two submissions this month in novice female barebow. Charlotte Cooke from Bristol came out on top with 416 in front of fellow Bristolian Catherine Chambers with 323.

Over in the Alumni eLeagues, former league coordinator Tom Braxton came out on top of the male recurves on an impressive 638 and Richard Mill beating out fellow Swansea Alumni Tom Jackson by 1 point.
